July Update

BRCC Men's Member/Guest is July 28,29 & 30. Cost per player is $210. We are filling up fast and if interested please call the pro shop to sign up. 

The swimming pool is now. Hours of operations are as follows:

Monday-Saturday 11:00am - 6:00pm

Sunday 1:00pm - 6:00pm

We are also booking the swimming pool for pool parties. The cost is $150 and it includes a lifeguard. Pool parties are rented from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Also a reminder to our members that you have to be with your guests at the swimming and you need to check in at the pro shop when you have a guest. Thank you

Swimming Pool Update

          I am here to give everyone an update on the swimming pool. We signed a contract with Pearl Pools out of Raleigh, NC in January 2023. The expected date of completion was Memorial Day 2023. However, it is Memorial Day and the renovation is not complete. I am just as disappointed as you are. I know a lot of families are looking forward to the use of the pool this summer. With that being said, there are still a couple of stages that have to be completed. The next stage is for the contractor to install the top coping on the pool, and then replace the concrete we took out to replace the skimmer lines. Once that is complete, they will plaster the inside of the pool with Diamond Brite Quartz Finish. After the pool has been plastered we are going to put a pool decking coat on the concrete deck around the pool to blend the new renovation. Once this is complete we will fill the swimming pool with water and balance the chemicals. The tentative date for completion is between June 19^th and July 1^st.   I appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding. If the weather is cooperating we may try to keep the swimming pool open longer than Labor Day. If you have any questions and concerns feel free to call me at 276 236-5637.

The spring golf season is almost upon us! We are looking forward to another outstanding year and would like to
update you on some of the new offerings we have for you. Beginning April 1st 2023, we will begin offering a cart package
on a per membership basis. There will be an option of Single Person, Two Person, and Family cart packages. The cost per
cart package is listed below and must be paid in full when taking advantage of this option. Cart packages will run from
April 1st 2023 to March 31st 2024.

Cart Package Options - Per Membership
Single Person Cart $1400
Two Person Cart $1700
Family Cart Package $2000

Throughout the cold weather we were able to begin bunker renovations on holes 11, 12, 13, 16, & 18. We
reshaped the bunkers, removed old sand and rocks, installed new drains, and are currentty adding new sand to keep the
bunkers from washing while increasing the drainage properties of each.

We are excited for the 2023 season at BRCC. We would like to thank each of you for your
contributions to the club and appreciate the dedication you have shown throughout the years. Without
your help, it would be nearly impossible to make improvements to the course and clubhouse as we do
every year.

Here are some highlights of2022 at BRCC: Brad Chambers won the Men's Match Play Club
Championship, Greg Edwards won the Men's Senior Match Play Club Championship, Galax Varsity
Golf Team won 1A State Championship, Grayden Laird won the Individual 1A State Championship,
The Galax High School Golf Team will compete in the PGA National High School Invitational July
17-19 in Frisco Texas, Brad Chambers won the 59th BRCC Men's Invitational, Brad Chambers &
Andy Routh won the BRCC Men's Meriloef/Guesfiirid the BRCC Fall Open, Skip Taylor & Eric
Russel won the Spring Open. The BRCC Ladies Association had a great year and wants to thank
everyone for their participation. The Ladies Association would like to invite all Ladies who are
members or are interested in joining the Ladies Association to the Annual Kickoff Meeting April 30th
at 2:00PM hosted in the Banquet Hall.

Due to the rising cost of goods, and the minimum wage increase, we are unfortunately going to
have to increase the annual 2023 dues to cover some of these expenses. The annual dues will go from
$680 to $720. That will make quarterly dues $180 per quarter. Cart fees will increase from $14 to $16
February 1st. The green fees and cart fees will increase in the same percentage for our guests. The
minimum wage increase to $12.00/hr alone is a $20,000 increase in our budget. The fertilizer and
chemicals we order for the golf course increased again.

The following renovations were completed in 2022: New Roof for the Club House, Concrete
Cart Path on holes 13&15, renovated sand traps on holes 4, 8 & 15 with new drains and sand, installed
two new heat pumps for the banquet hall, trimmed majority of the Maple Trees on the back 9.

We do have an exciting update on the swimming pool. The last contractor dragged their feet and
kept pushing our time back to complete the renovation so we decided to switch contractors. The new
contractor out of NC believes they will be finished by Memorial Day Weekend.

BRCC signed a contract to purchase a new fleet of 50 E-Z-GO Lithium Golf Carts that will be
delivered in June. The cost of golf carts have increased dramatically. That is why the cart fee price will
increase.

Our goal each year at BRCC is to make our club better while keeping our annual dues to an
industry low. We have done research within the New River Valley and without a doubt still have the
best deal in the area. Again thank you for your support and understanding.
